(Detroit, MI) -- Formal charges have been filed against two Detroit men stemming from a fatal carjacking attempt. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 19-year-old Eric Chandler and 21-year-old Devon Berry in the death of Dontae Norris on July 28th. Chandler and Berry allegedly approached Norris on Rutland Street and forced him to turn over his vehicle. As the suspects drove off, Norris jumped on the roof of the car but was shot by one of the suspects. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The suspects are facing charges of felony murder and first-degree premeditated murder.
