(Detroit, MI) -- Additional federal funding to help Detroit remove blighted properties may be on the way. U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said he's impressed with the city's efforts so far. Lew was in Detroit's Marygrove community yesterday where federal money was used to bring down homes. Michigan received nearly 500-million dollars in assistance from Washington with 52-million dollars going to Detroit. Lew said if Detroit was to apply for additional funding, the Treasury would "be happy to entertain the application."
