(Undated) -- The lights are coming back on across the eastern third of the U.S. and Canada, but thousands of people are still powerless this morning. Power's been restored to all but 125-thousand of the nearly half-million people in Michigan who lost electricity earlier this week. Utility crews there were working through Christmas Day and night.About 700 people across Vermont were without power last night, while 45-thousand people in Maine were still in the dark. More than 70-thousand people in the Toronto area still had no electricity Wednesday night, down from a high of 300-thousand.
