Sheriff: No Sign Of Criminal Behavior In Stewart Accident
(Ontario County, NY) -- Authorities say there are no signs of probable cause in the fatal dirt-track accident involving NASCAR champion Tony Stewart. Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero said there are no facts to support any criminal behavior in the accident that killed sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr. Saturday night. After crashing, Ward got out of his car and walked onto the track and gestured at Tony Stewart. Stewart's car struck Ward and the 20-year-old was pronounced dead at a hospital. Povero said Monday an autopsy showed that Ward died from massive blunt trauma.
