(Detroit, MI) -- The Detroit municipal parking system could be sold. Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr is reportedly asking the Detroit City Council to approve a plan to get proposals from companies looking to purchase or lease the department. The union representing parking department workers is expected to be a part of the bidding process. Detroit Chief Operating Officer Gary Brown is planning on holding a meeting with union officials Thursday to discuss the plan. Orr has been seeking the sale or lease of the department for over a year.
