(Detroit, MI) -- General Motors is starting the year off on a down note. Overall January sales were down 12-percent from the same time last year, with fleet deliveries dropping 18-percent and retail sales down ten-percent. There were some bright spots in the month including Chevrolet sweeping the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards with the Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Cruze. Additionally, retail sales of Chevrolet cars were up eight-percent.
