(Detroit, MI) -- The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan's New Economy Initiative is getting over 33-million dollars in support from several foundations. The initiative's goal is to return Detroit to a global center of innovation and manufacturing. The NEI awarded 76-million dollars in grants in their first effort in 2008 which created an estimated 675 new businesses and eight-thousand jobs in southeast Michigan. The latest funding will support efforts over the next three years.
