(Detroit, MI) -- A judge who had an affair with a woman while he was presiding over her child custody case is immune from being sued. Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree was facing a suit from the father of the child in the custody case. Now the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals says that McCree's actions were "often reprehensible," but he is protected by judicial immunity. Attorney Joel Sklar, who is taking the case to the U.S. Supreme Court is quoted in the "Detroit Free Press" saying that McCree improperly used the judicial immunity doctrine, "as a shield for self interest."
