(Detroit, MI) -- Thanks to a 100-thousand-dollar grant, the Detroit Institute for Population Health will build 25-new playgrounds in the city. According to the institute's president and CEO Loretta Davis, the goal is to help kids rediscover the joy of playing. She says part of that is to reprogram kids who are growing up on a diet of electronics. She says quote, "They've lost the language of play. We want them to go next door and say "Come outside and play hopscotch or jump rope or skateboard."
