(Warren, MI) -- Monday's heavy rains have washed away embankments on some area freeways and caused flooding that's left hundreds of cars damaged. Michigan Department of Transportation crews are inspecting the damage. Michigan State Police dive teams were dispatched to Interstate 94 and Michigan Avenue, and Interstate 696 and I-275 to see how many vehicles are in the water. No one has been reported missing due to the flooding. The heavy rain did cause enough damage at the Detroit Zoo to force the closure of the facility today.
