(Macomb County, MI) -- Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel says he will not participate in any more talks about regionalizing the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department as part of ongoing bankruptcy discussions. Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr has proposed giving Oakland and Macomb Counties more control over the department if they pay the city of Detroit millions of dollars. In the Detroit Free Press Hackel is quoted saying, "I am not having any further discussions with Kevyn Orr or anybody about Detroit water and sewer as part of the bankruptcy." Hackel says that once Kevyn Orr is gone he will, once again. participate in regionalization talks.
