(Detroit, MI) -- Former Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh has responded to a lawsuit accusing him of offering a teen money for sex. Pugh's answer to the lawsuit was reportedly filed Monday in federal court. Officials say he met the teen in September 2012 when he volunteered for a mentorship program at the Frederick Douglass Academy. The allegations effectively ended Pugh's political career in Detroit, sparked a federal civil rights lawsuit and led to his brief disappearance last year.
