(Detroit, MI) -- A Cass Tech High School quarterback accused of attacking a security guard last month is facing charges in the case. Yesterday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced 17-year-old Jayru Campbell has been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm and aggravated assault. Campbell allegedly slammed the 23-year-old guard to the ground after he was told to remove a piece of clothing from his head. In announcing the charges, Worthy said that it doesn't matter who you are, the law applies to everyone. Campbell, a highly recruited player who has turned down scholarship offers from Alabama and Notre Dame, has verbally committed to Michigan State. He has been suspended from school and is expected to be arraigned today.
