Canadians Plan To Join Detroit Water Protests
(Detroit, MI) -- Eight cars loaded up with one-thousand liters of water are set to cross over to Detroit from Windsor today as part of the protest of water shut-offs. Organizers of the convoy plan to try to bring in the roughly 264 gallons of Canadian tap water through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, but there is a chance border guards may send the cars back to Canada. Water coming across the border that goes beyond what is needed for personal use needs the approval of the federal government thanks to a 2002 bioterrorism law.
