(Detroit, MI) -- Detroit-based watch and bicycle maker Shinola says it plans to expand operations in the Motor City and around the world next year. CEO Stephen Bock says the company will open a retail store in Minneapolis, and is looking at opening stores elsewhere in Michigan, Chicago, Washington, D.C., as well as London, England and Berlin, Germany. Bock says Shinola reached its 2013 goal of making 45,000 watches, and plans to boost production and add new styles in 2014. That includes a new line of jeans. The company has also added to its work force, going from 40 employees to about 200 this year.
